At Folk Inspirations will play again our dear friend and long-time participant – the National Folk Music Ensemble “Pervotsvit” from Kyiv – a true pride of the Ukrainian youth scene. The Ensemble has been active since 1991 and is based at the Kyiv Palace of Children and Youth in Ukraine. The founder and artistic director of the ensemble is Oleksandr Lysych – an outstanding educator, folk music enthusiast, and a passionate promoter of youth culture.
“Pervotsvit” is a vibrant and multifaceted artistic formation composed of three sections: vocal, instrumental (specializing in traditional folk instruments), and violin. The group currently includes around 60 talented girls and boys aged 6 to 21. All members of the ensemble share a love for music and are dedicated to systematic artistic work, developing their skills in both instrumental performance and stage presentation.
The repertoire of “Pervotsvit” is a carefully selected blend of traditional folk music presented in modern, dynamic arrangements. The ensemble’s performances captivate audiences with their color, energy, and deep respect for Ukrainian musical traditions.
“Pervotsvit” regularly takes part in festivals and artistic events and has earned numerous awards at both national and international festivals. In 2008, in recognition of its outstanding creative achievements, the ensemble was granted the prestigious title of National Artistic Ensemble of Ukraine.
