A fantastic group is joining us at Folk Inspirations – a dear friend of the festival and a long-time participant whose unforgettable performances we remember well – the National Contemporary Dance Ensemble “Flamingo” from Ukraine.
The ensemble was founded in 1998 at the Kyiv Palace of Children and Youth. It is artistically directed by two experienced choreographers: Lyudmyla Hryshchenko and Nataliya Zhelyak. For over two decades, the group has passionately nurtured young talents, developing their skills in dance, acting, and acrobatics.
Today, the ensemble includes over 150 children and teenagers aged 5 to 19. Their training is based on an original pedagogical-artistic program that combines elements of contemporary dance, gymnastics, and movement theater. This approach not only enhances the participants’ versatility but also enables them to express emotions and tell stories through stage movement.
Flamingo is a multiple award winner of national and international competitions and festivals. Its members regularly represent Ukraine on the international stage, serving as ambassadors of Ukrainian children’s and youth culture.
The ensemble’s performances are known for their emotional intensity, high artistic quality, and demanding choreographic technique. Each show is a blend of modernity, creativity, and a unique style that leaves a lasting impression on the audience.
Don’t miss this choreographic feast – join us and feel the magic of the festival!
