Song and Dance Ensemble “Poltex”

Now it’s time to introduce our palace ensembles. We can proudly say that the heart of the festival is the Song and Dance Ensemble “Poltex”! The “Poltex” was founded in 1961 at one of the largest textile factories in Poland at the time – the “Poltex” Cotton Industry Plant in Łódź – from which it takes its name, deeply rooted in the city’s history. Since September 2016, the group has been operating at the Julian Tuwim Youth Palace in Łódź, where it continues to inspire new generations of young artists with a passion for dance and folklore.

Today, “Poltex” brings together over 100 dancers – children, youth, and adults – united by their love for Polish folklore. The artistic director of the ensemble is Iwona Brzezińska, who approaches every stage performance with exceptional sensitivity and professionalism.

The group’s repertoire is a true treasure trove of Polish traditions – featuring dances and songs from 16 regions of the country, colorful dance spectacles, folk rituals, and scenic vignettes that reflect the richness and diversity of our culture.

“Poltex” has performed on three continents – Europe, Asia, and Africa – often returning to the same countries by invitation of festivals and cultural institutions. Each performance is not just music and dance, but an emotional story about Poland told through movement, song, and heart.

Join us and experience a true folkloric adventure – because here, tradition truly dances!
