Once again, the festival stage will be honored by the presence of a group from Palestine – the Baqoun Folklore Dance Group – which has already captivated us multiple times with performances full of passion and cultural depth. Baqoun is one of the most renowned folklore dance groups on both the local and national levels in Palestine.
The group has also gained recognition internationally through participation in prestigious events beyond the country’s borders. With great pride, they preserve and celebrate the traditional dance dabkka, presenting the rich musical heritage of Palestine and, more broadly, the Arab world.
The group consists of 55 members, each of whom began their dance journey while still at school. Baqoun is a united ensemble built on collaboration and shared values. One of their missions is to train younger generations, passing down tradition in a modern and creative way. Through innovation, continuous training, and the passion of its young dancers, traditional dabkka has been elevated to a new, dynamic, and contemporary level.
In the past two years, Baqoun Folklore Dance Group has achieved great success in their homeland, becoming a proud ambassador of Palestinian culture and heritage. They have had the honor of representing Palestine on international stages in Jordan, Chile, the Netherlands, Germany, France, Italy, the UK, Poland, Spain, the Czech Republic, and Hungary.
