The “Canaan” Group

Another captivating guest from the Middle East is set to take the festival stage. For the first time at this year’s edition of the Folk Inspirations Festival, the Canaan ensemble will perform — a group that fascinates with its ability to blend tradition and passion. The artists present high-energy Palestinian dabke dances, which express community, pride, and love for their homeland.

The ensemble was founded in 2017 by Palestinian artists living in Egypt. Its mission is to promote the rich cultural heritage of Palestine. Their performances are not only a showcase of impressive dance skills but also an emotional story about the identity, history, and hopes of the Palestinian people.

Canaan has already appeared at many prestigious events in Egypt, including the International Festival of Drums and Traditional Arts, the She Arts Festival, and the International Folklore Festival in Damanhour.

In 2019, they won first place in the Arab World Creativity Competition, organized by the Egyptian Ministry of Youth and Sports.

Their performance at Folk Inspirations will be a unique encounter with Palestinian culture — vibrant, moving, and full of strength.

Don’t miss it — Canaan will take us on a rhythmic journey straight to the heart of the Middle East.
